Timeline

The following narrative provides a chronological timeline of the British Lostbelt, taken from the "notes" section in the game upon completion of Lostbelt 6. Note: The Era of the High Queen shares the same year system as Proper Human History (AD). The Fae Era can be considered BC in Proper Human History years.

Fae Era

12,000 BC: Six faeries tasked with forging the sacred sword neglect their duty. The Earth's surface is swallowed by a sea of nothingness. Troubled by this, the faeries conclude the god of beasts is to blame for never making them work. They conspire to trick and kill the god. Following this they decide to live on it's corpse. "Now we don't have to float anymore!" The god's surviving priestess is used as a template to manufacture the humans of this world, who do not have the ability to reproduce. So begins Cernunnos' curse and the priestess' prophecy.

11,000 BC: The First Great Calamity. From among the first faeries, two of the six A-ray species die. Unlike childbearing species, A-ray species are unique, so no new generations emerge when they die. But on rare occasions, someone from their clan with power on par with their ancestors is born. This is calt "atavism," the reemergence of the A-ray. Since then, a faerie nation is doomed to perish once every thousand years. Faeries begin to perish, and as an effect of the stain on their souls, no new generation will emerge.

6000 BC: The War of Spring. The landmass spreads until it reaches Manchester. In doing so, it reaches the northern faeries, who rely on the carcass of Britain's final dragon to sruvive. The British (southern) faeries, along with the humans in their possession, go to war with these northern faeries. The southern faeries emerge victorious, annihilating the northern faeries entirely. The myriad corpses of the innocent northern fae mutter, "You're next."

5000 BC: The Rain Clan and Mirror Clan establish kingdoms at the site of the Spring War. The Rain Clan builds its capital in Orkney.

4000 BC: Morgan, the "Faerie of Paradise," washes ashore at Orkney. The Rain Clan, which took Morgan in, is destroyed, along with Orkney. Morgan from Proper Human History Rayshifts and passes her past self information about Proper Human History. Morgan resumes her activities as "Aesc." The cycle of quelling calamities and entering into a long period of slumber continues. At the same time, Grímr the Sage answers Aesc's call.

2000 BC: The War of Summer. A war between the northern faeries, led by Queen Mab, and the southern faeries. The war ends after Aesc the Savior's intervention, and the current six-clan structure is established. Though Mab gains the upper hand in the war, on the cusp of victory, she is betrayed by her human lover, and is caught off her guard and defeated by Aesc.

400 BC: The War of Autumn. An armed uprising begins, led by a group called the Round Table that advocates coexistence with humans. The human knight Uther conquers the faerie clans and becomes the first king of a unified Britain. Mash is sent to this time through the Water Mirror. She meets Aesc the Savior and company. A few months later, a civil war erupts after Uther is poisoned during his coronation ceremony, and the Round Table is dissolved. Londinium, the Round Table's base, falls.

1 BC: Faerie civilization collapses in the Great Calamity.

Era of the High Queen

1 AD: The War of Winter. Morgan uses magical energy from the Tree of Emptiness to establish Faerie Britain. Morgan invades from Orkney. She conquers all of Britain and reigns as High Queen.

400 AD: Tensions between the northern faeries and Camelot reignite over the establishment of human ranches. A secret agreement is formed between Mab and Morgan. Mab declares that she will break off relations with Morgan and continue her rule over the northern faeries. She erects a fortified city in the north. After Mab's death, the queen's city Edinburgh appears.

800 AD: The Fang Clan massacres the Wing Clan. The Wing Clan is annihilated. Murian is its sole survivor.

1000 AD: The Mors War. One of the Great Calamities. A war between the king of the mors and the high queen's army ensues. Wryneck, one of Morgan's retainers since the Fae Era, dies. His successor, Woodwose, defeats the king. The fallen king is said to have laid a curse upon the Fang Clan. "You're next."

1600 AD: A powerful Fang Clan faerie is born. She is Barghest, eater of faeries. Aurora visits the Mirror clan's city. Mélusine is born and emerges from the bog in the Lake District.

2001 AD: Ainsel, chief of the Mirror Clan, makes her prophecy: "A savior who will save Britain has been born. A true king who will defeat the false king shall appear."

2011 AD: The Mirror Clan is destroyed.

2019 AD: In Lostbelt Britain, the Crypter Beryl summons Proper Human History Morgan. Acting alone, Morgan Rayshifts to Fae Era 4000 and shares information about Proper Human History with Lostbelt Morgan (Aesc) before her termination. Chaldea arrives in Faerie Britain.
