Key Characters
The following are brief descriptions of characters that are both related to Morgan's story and central to the core storyline of Lostbelt 6. Morgan's relationship with some of these individuals, as well as others not listed here, will be explored in more depth in other sections of the website.
Ainsel - Head of the Mirror Clan and Guardian of the Lake District. Ainsel and the rest of the Mirror Clan are destroyed by Melusine on Aurora’s orders prior to Chaldea arriving in Faerie Britain. Before her death, Ainsel foretold of the Child of Prophecy would appear, ring the six Bells of Prophecy and defeat Morgan to save Britain. It is later revealed that Lostbelt 6 Gareth is the reincarnation of Ainsel.
Artoria Caster - The Child of Prophecy and a Faerie of Paradise created by the planet to be a savior of Faerie Britain after Aesc gave up on her duty. She has the same appearance as Aesc did because her purpose as a faerie is the same. Despite being the famed Child of Prophecy, she is both doubtful about her ability to defeat Morgan and secretly has no true desire to save Faerie Britain. With the support of the Master of Chaldea, Oberon, and the combined King Clan and Knights of the Round Table armies, Camelot is breached effectively…but they are completely outmatched by Morgan’s power. Her death occurs only because of betrayal within her own court as orchestrated by Oberon.
Aurora - Head of the Wind Clan and Lord of Salisbury. She is greatly loved by her followers and has a surface-level kind and loving personality. She is intrigued by new and interesting things, and wants equality between faeries and humans. However, under the surface her main goal is to truly be loved by others and she cannot tolerate others outshining her. It’s clear that Aurora has no intention of actually being loyal to Morgan, and her actions become more defiant the more support that Caster Artoria gets. Despite Aurora acknowledging that she could never defeat Morgan on her own directly, she ends up being the one who ultimately seals Morgan’s fate by both lying to Woodwose to fuel Oberon’s plan and by inciting a mob of faeries to kill her after she is injured.
Beryl Gut - One of the seven Crypters and the one who summoned Proper Human History Morgan upon his arrival in the original Faerie Britain. Though Faerie Queen Morgan is no longer his servant, she allows him to have the title of her husband publicly—though neither of them actually believe that pretense to be true with regard to their actual feelings for one another. Beryl finds Morgan to be boring and uptight and Morgan doesn’t care about anything other than her own interest in continuing to rule over Faerie Britain.
Cnoc na Riabh - Head of the King Clan and ruler of Edinburgh. She is the next generation of Mab—a faerie that was defeated by Morgan during her time as Aesc. Cnoc na Riabh is a close friend to Caster Artoria (though they often bicker) and is determined to challenge Morgan for the throne once her army is strong enough to take on Morgan’s. She forms an alliance with Caster Artoria and the Round Table Army to breach Camelot and defeat Morgan. She briefly becomes the new Queen after Morgan’s death until she is poisoned by Aurora.
Murian - Head of the Wing Clan and Lord of Gloucester. She is the only remaining member of the Wing Clan and has been waiting centuries for the chance to massacre the Fang Clan in revenge. Murian remains neutral for most of Caster Artoria’s journey to rise against Morgan, but does end up making her and Tam Lin Tristan fight on stage on two occasions before she is able to ring the Bell of Paradise at Gloucester. Murian, similar to most other clan heads, does not particularly care for Morgan, but does acknowledge that Morgan could dispel Gloucester’s fae domain (that anyone who enters are left with no more power than they were born with) easily if she wanted to.
Oberon - A self-proclaimed Servant of Proper Human History and Fairy King who resides in the Welsh Woods. On the surface, he is a supporter of Caster Artoria in her pilgrimage as the Child of Prophecy and the Master of Chaldea to restore Proper Human history. Truthfully, his spirit origin is a mix of both Fairy King Oberon from Shakespeare and Vortigern—he is the Insect of the Abyss that came to this Lostbelt in order to destroy Faerie Britain and humanity. Defeating Morgan was his first goal because he couldn’t reach his true potential as the Insect of the Abyss so long as Cernunnos continued to exist, so he has been pulling strings behind the scenes to ensure her defeat even if he couldn’t defeat her on his own directly. Morgan’s death ultimately is a result of his manipulation of Aurora and Woodwose.
Spriggan - Head of the Earth Clan and Lord of Norwich. He is actually a human from Proper Human History who drifted to Faerie Britain and is pretending to be an Earth Clan faerie. Spriggan clearly is selfish and cares only about his own material gain—he does not care about the faeries of Norwich or what happens to anyone when the Calamity appears. He pretends to be loyal to Morgan throughout most of the story, but betrays her after the Round Table Army invades Camelot by using Tam Lin Tristan—her only weakness—as a hostage, which leads to her being wounded enough for the other faeries in the throne room to kill her.
Tam Lin Gawain - Morgan’s first Tam Lin, member of Faerie Britain’s Knights of the Round Table, and the Lord of Manchester. She is a Fang Clan faerie and is the most feared Tam Lin. She strives to be the ideal knight and takes her role and loyalty seriously—only being willing to indirectly betray Morgan when she realizes that Morgan cares more about the land of Faerie Britain than its inhabitants. Her true name is Barghest and she is the reincarnation of the Great Calamity, destined to become the Black Dog that would destroy Britain. Morgan uses the gifted name of Gawain to act as a seal to prevent that from happening. Oberon manipulates the timing of her devolving into the Black Dog to his advantage in destroying Britain.
Tam Lin Lancelot - A member of Faerie Britain’s Knights of the Round Table and a loyal follower of Aurora. Unlike the other two Tam Lin, she is beloved by the faeries as both strong and beautiful. She is not personally loyal to Morgan, but is grateful for her gifted name of Lancelot because it allows her to retain her faerie form, so she abides to being a member of the Knights of the Round Table. She is often regarded as the strongest faerie in Britain, though she is much stronger airborne than fighting as a knight. Her true form is part of the Dragon of Albion, but her name as a faerie is Melusine—which was given to her by Aurora. During the battle in Camelot, Melusine ends up leaving before the fight is over because she is called back to Salisbury by Aurora, essentially betraying Morgan indirectly as Barghest did.
Tam Lin Tristan - A member of Faerie Britain’s Knights of the Round Table, Lord of New Darlington, and adopted daughter to Morgan. She is named the successor of Faerie Britain and was taught magic by Morgan—much to the displeasure of every other faerie in Britain. She is cruel, sadistic and has a vicious temper. She wants nothing more than to please Morgan and enjoys the company of Beryl. Her true name is Baobhan Sith, the only faerie who ever thanked Aesc in the thousands of years of her service to Faerie Britain, and one of the very few people left that Morgan truly cares about. Spriggan uses Baobhan Sith as a hostage in order to create an opening for Morgan to be killed by the angry mob of court faeries.
Woodwose - Head of the Fang Clan and Lord of Oxford. He is the successor to Wryneck and has been extremely loyal to Morgan for centuries. Despite having a short fuse and violent temperament, he tries to compose himself and act more civil than savage based on her advice. His love for Morgan and crush on Aurora are both taken advantage of by Oberon in his plot to defeat Morgan, as he is able to manipulate him to turn the tides of battle. Aurora furthers this manipulation by lying to him about Morgan abandoning him and not sending reinforcements, which results in him fatally wounding her in the throne room.
